Our Story

We empower vulnerable children, youth, and families in Nigeria to rise above poverty, build self-reliant lives, and experience lasting dignity and purpose.

Hope Agbons Charity Foundation is a registered Nigerian not-for-profit and non-political organization headquartered in Benin City, Edo State. Since our founding, we have remained committed to empowering vulnerable youth and underserved communities by addressing the root causes of poverty, illiteracy, and social marginalization.

Our history

Hope Agbons Charity FoundationHope Agbons Charity Foundation began its journey in 2022 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, in response to the rising needs of orphaned and vulnerable children across the region. Founded by individuals deeply moved by the suffering of youth trapped in poverty, neglect, and instability, the Foundation was established to do more than provide temporary relief. It was created to restore dignity, opportunity, and long-term independence to children and youth-led families who had been left behind by conventional systems.

In its early days, the Foundation focused on community outreach, nutritional support, clothing drives, and educational aid, especially in underserved rural and urban communities. However, as the needs of vulnerable youth grew more complex—and the shortcomings of aid-based charity became more apparent—the Foundation began to shift toward a holistic empowerment model.

By 2023, Hope Agbons Charity Foundation had developed and implemented a locally driven structure that organizes vulnerable youth into mutual support groups. These groups receive training in practical vocational skills, small business support, micro-grants, and life skills education, enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods. The goal is not simply to assist youth for a moment in time but to help them take control of their future with strength and dignity.

With the support of partners, donors, and communities, the Foundation continues to scale its model, reaching more children and families each year. Our story is still being written, but the message remains the same: every child deserves a chance—not just to survive, but to thrive.

At Hope Agbons Charity Foundation, we believe in equipping vulnerable youth with the tools and opportunities they need to become self-reliant. Rather than relying on continuous handouts, our approach focuses on skill-building, education, and micro-enterprise development. Participants are grouped and supported locally through programs that emphasize vocational training, financial literacy, and social reintegration. This model enables children and youth to move from surviving to thriving—transforming into independent individuals who can contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The future is empowerment.

Hope Agbons Charity Foundation is leading the growing movement toward participant-centric empowerment solutions. We are actively growing Zoe’s network and are excited to share this approach with other organizations who serve children looking for proven, sustainable solutions to an ongoing orphan humanitarian crisis.
